Golf La Moraleja 3
This course bears the Jack Nicklaus signature. The designer has transformed a terrain that was originally flat by introducing small hills at different points, more or less pronounced, in order to achieve a course with multiple play options at almost all the holes.
It is configured as a long, classical, parkland-type course; a good challenge for hosting important tournaments, but also very pleasant for any amateur to play.
Its fairways are wide and its greens, in general, are spacious. It has three enormous lakes which affect half of the holes and the trees that have been planted (more than 1,200) will soon become an important part of the game, as indeed its 68 bunkers already are.
Strategy here is more important than distance: it obliges one to carefully think out each shot in order to achieve a better option for the following shot. Nicklaus has taken care to make it so, as indeed to favour players capable of achieving powerful fades.
A design that is firmly committed with the environment and built to the highest of standards. The entire course has a 20 cm layer of sand beneath the grass to facilitate stability, drainage and, above all, maintenance. The greens have been sown with Agrostis T-1, the fairways and tees with Agrostis PLS and the roughs with Poa Patensis.
